Friends of Abandoned Pets (FOAP)

I always laugh at dating profile taglines that say, “Must Love Dogs”. I’ve always been more of a cat guy myself which is why I volunteered for an organization dedicated to finding homes for abandoned cats (and the odd dog).

The job involved driving around Ottawa visiting volunteers providing temporary shelter (including some totally crazy cat people) to take pictures for posting on the organization’s website to unite these animals with loving new owners (and not a Chinese food restaurant). To help get the little fur balls flying off the shelves, I bought a Nikon D-70, the very first digital SLR, and so began the development of my higher photography skills.

Each picture below represents gas and time. Kitty whisperer that I am, you can always tell by the eyes just how traumatic a furry little life has been. These guys need us.
