Master Gmail Account

The master gmail account (set up and sign-in from any Google Search page) is used to register, configure (SEO optimize) and/or administer the following:

Google Apps

  • Corporate gmail, Contacts, Calendar, Google docs, Google sheets, etc. and Google Drive account management.

Google My Business

  • Local business listing and platform for collecting Google Reviews and managing Google Maps listing.

Google Maps Listing

  • Physical location of business listing on Google Maps.

YouTube Channel

  • Corporate product and service videos.

Adwords

  • Keyword traffic research tools; admin account for SEM advertising channels and resulting data (also integrated into Google Analytics dashboard).

Google Analytics

  • Data collection and management of customer website traffic housed in a control panel providing a single, accurate view that can be customized to your needs and shared across the organization.

Other Account Credentials

Domain Name (ownership of your website address)

  • The company where you purchase and renew your domain name (i.e. sitename.com, sitename.net, sitename.ca, etc.); Typical cost: $10 per year
  • Make sure YOU own and control this account, NOT your webmaster
  • Username/password required to access (Godaddy.com is a popular domain ownership management company)
  • DNS (domain name server) address assigned here (the host server address you point the domain name to)

Hosting Account (where your website is hosted)

  • Website hosting account (space rented on a server where your website is located); Typical cost: $10 per month
  • Assigned a unique FTP (file transfer protocol) address for upload/download of website files, installation of WordPress templates, Google Analytics code installation, and backup
  • Account username/password required to establish connection with server
  •  hosting companies may advertise 99.99% uptime, hourly back-ups, etc. as USPs

WordPress Admin Account

  • Account username/password required for back-end access
  • Web content management; SEO keyword modifications
