Web Services Overview

Helping People Understand the World Wide Web Since 1996

After typesetting the blueprint for Canada’s information highway in 1996, Matt Stepchuk built the very first enterprise web solutions for Industry Canada’s Competition Bureau, Canada’s Digital Collections, and Generations CanConnect initiatives.

A true pioneer in internet marketing, in 1998 Matt invented the e-Brochure, a self-contained, multimedia email attachment used by Industry Canada, Canada Post Corporation, and Hummingbird Technologies for information dissemination and computer-based training. In 2000, MGi's strategic marketing solutions also resulted in the first promotional slash off Canada Post’s website (www.canadapost.ca/tagsandlabels).

Ever-Advancing Technologies

Today's websites offer unprecedented opportunity to connect tools and content with business processes. With 90% of Canadians having one hand on a mouse and the other on their wallet, it is now possible to watch a visitor enter your website in realtime, follow them as they navigate around to a section of interest, activate a pop-up window to say "hello", then engage the customer in deal-closing discussions via text or video.

With ever-advancing technologies, Google Analytics now lets you see and analyze web traffic stats for free, smart forms feed information directly into CRMs, and WordPress facilitates in-house content publication and control.

Search marketing strategy requires setup and maintenance of multiple components to achieve visibility with Google searches. Keyword optimized content, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Linked-In profiles, Google Map listings, and YouTube channels all play a role, but Google keeps changing the rules as they monitor compliance with their 300 year plan "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."

Web 3.0

While Web 2.0 refers to websites that emphasize user-generated content, ease of use, and interoperability (ability to integrate with other products, systems, and devices), the birth of blockchain, or Web 3.0, has spawned a movement set to disrupt the entire tech industry by making traditional business models defunct as decentralization of the World Wide Web takes hold.
